The Battle is not yours but God’s

The Battle is not yours but God’s

2nd Chronicles 20:15 c

Life is a Battle. Every day we are fighting many battles in our lives: It may be mentally, physically, or emotionally. Sometimes we won and sometimes we lost our battle. Many times we asked God, why you allowed these challenges in my life, though I am your children. One day the king of Judah Jehoshaphat faced the same situation. Though he was a God-fearing king, he never trusted in his own power, but he trusted the power of God. God rewarded his faith and give him victory over the largest numbers of the enemy. Let's look at a few key points of Jehoshaphat's life from the 2nd Chronicles chapter 20, and understand how we can apply it in our life too.

The Hebrew meaning of Jehoshaphat "Jehovah has judged"; according to 1 Kings 15:24, he was the son of Asa, and the fourth king of the Kingdom of Judah. He was a good king, He did all righteous work before God; during his time he brought justice to all. God was pleased with Him.

We can see in (Chronicles 20: 1, 2),  one day King Jehoshaphat's messenger told him, three nations with great multitude coming against him for the battle.  They are (Moabites (ancient Palestine), Ammonites (city of Amman, Jordan's capital.), and Meunite (southwestern Jordan,). This news brings fere in kings' life (v. 3). It may be a very dicurregement situation for him, he may think about his future and his people. He may go through depression and anger in his mind. He may think he lost everything. Many times we lost our battle before a fight, because of fere. Mahatma Gandhi said,  “The enemy is fear. We think it is hate, but it is really fear.”

To whom you fear today; to your enemy, future, failure, success, nature, or own relative. We need to bring our fear before God; because His promises remind us in (Isaiah 43:1-2) “O Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (Timothy 1:7). Matthew 10:26-28.

Fear God, Not Man " “Do not be afraid of them, for nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing is secret that will not be made known. What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light, and what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the housetops. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the one who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." My dear friends your “Fear” makes you stop to reach your destiny. Today we have a thousand excuses, but king Jehoshaphat never Stop that day, but he decided to go forward and sick God.

Seeking God :

V 3-5. Today what you are seeking; Money, Power, Position, Knowledge. We need to seek God; because every good thing comes from God. Your answer is you’re near through your seeking.  Isaiah 55:6 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.

Psalm 9:10:  God never forsaken those who seek Him.

Psalm 34:10:  The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.

Lamentations 3:25: The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.

Zephaniah 2:3: The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;

What is the meaning Seeking?

Matthew 6:33: But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

It means humble before God. We are all sinner, According to Roman 3:10-12. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (Psalms 37:39-40) But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in the time of trouble.

Matthew 7:7 Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

“The key to winning the battle Seeking God” as we seen in Jehoshaphat’s Life

Praying God:

V. 6-14. Sometimes stop asking God But reminding God. God, you are great god, you promise me in your Word. I am your child, you love me. You will protect me.

Bible said God is the covenant-keeping God;  Leviticus 26:9 I will confirm My covenant with you; Exodus 2:4 So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

King Jehoshaphat, not only praying, but He gathers whole Judah and declared fast before the Lord,

“Asking until you get, Seek until you found; Knock until Open” Prayer is like a battle; don’t leave until you get an answer. This is the work of believers today.

V. 14.  Finally Spirit of God comes upon Zachariah: V. 14-15 “Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Jahaziel son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite and the descendant of Asaph, as he stood in the assembly.

V. 15. He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. 17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’”

Praising God:

V. 19-21.

Sometime which our prayer cannot do than can happen by our praise. Praise Bring God’s presence within us.

My dear Friend Praising God is the greatest weapon of Victory.

Psalm: 50:9-15

I have no need of a bull from your stall

or of goats from your pens,

10 for every animal of the forest is mine,

and the cattle on a thousand hills.

11 I know every bird in the mountains,

and the insects in the fields are mine.

12 If I were hungry I would not tell you,

for the world is mine, and all that is in it.

13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls

or drink the blood of goats?

14 “Sacrifice thank offerings to God,

fulfill your vows to the Highest,

15 and call on me in the day of trouble;

I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

Ex Joshua 6:  Wall of Jericho Broken by praising; St. Paul and Silas were in Philippi  (Acts 16: 25-26) bout midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.

V 20-21 they praise the Lord.  Gives thanks to the Lord;  v. 22-24 they killed each other.

Blessing :

Not only the victory against their enemy; but they receive blessing from the Lord. V 25 They spend three days to take all the precious things and clothes.

Conclusion:

Proverbs: 21:30 the horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord. Our God is almighty God, nothing impossible for Him.  Roman 8:31 If God is on our side, can anyone be against us? Hebrew 13:5 said never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Instate trust our own strength, let trust God’s strength. My dear friends your journey is too much for you. Let seek God; for His strength. Let’s Pray to God for His mighty Hand. Let’s face the battle with praising God for His presence in the mix of our challenges.  Where is God’s Presence, there is joy, victory, Freedom, and Blessing.

I don’t know what kind of situation your going through, It may be mentally, physically or Emotionally, I have good news for Jesus Christ able to deliver us from every kinds of situation, Just believe on him and ask him Lord make me free today.
